Core Portfolio Range

Quorum Capital Conservative Portfolio:

For clients who wish to achieve investment returns in excess of cash and government bonds, can tolerate moderate equity-like investment risk and accept there is a risk of capital loss as capital markets fluctuate. The proportion of funds allocated to each asset class will be strongly dependent upon the relative hierarchy of each asset class primarily with respect to Preservation of Principal, and to a lesser extent with respect to Capital Growth. The maximum volatility threshold for the model is 7.5%, measured on a monthly and annual basis over the last 60 months. The asset classes from which qualifying funds will be selected from are Equities, Fixed Income, Property and Money Markets.

Quorum Capital Balanced Portfolio:

For clients who wish to achieve investment returns in excess of cash and government bonds, can tolerate moderate equity-like investment risk and accept there is a risk of capital loss as capital markets fluctuate. The proportion of funds allocated to each asset class will be strongly dependent upon the relative hierarchy of each asset class with respect to Preservation of Principal and Capital Growth. The maximum volatility threshold for the portfolio is 10%, measured on a monthly and annual basis over the last 60 months. The asset classes from which qualifying funds will be selected from are Equities, Fixed Income, Property and Commodities.

There is a more pronounced risk of capital loss as capital markets fluctuate, due to volatility parameters being somewhat higher than those for the balanced portfolios. Ethical Portfolio

Quorum Capital Ethical Portfolio:

For clients who wish to achieve investment returns in excess of cash and government bonds, can tolerate moderate equity-like investment risk and accept there is a risk of capital loss as capital markets fluctuate. The Quorum Capital Ethical Portfolio invests solely in funds drawn from a universe of ethical and socially responsible investments (SRIs). The Strategy endeavours to adhere to a maximum volatility threshold of 10%, measured on a monthly and annual basis. The volatility of the portfolio will of course fluctuate according to market conditions, if it breaches 10% our investment team would look to bring it back down under the threshold as soon as possible. The asset classes from which qualifying funds will be selected are Equities and Fixed Income.

Income and Growth Portfolio

Quorum Capital Income and Growth Portfolio:

For clients who wish to achieve investment returns in excess of cash and government bonds, can tolerate moderate equity-like investment risk, can accept there is a risk of capital loss as capital markets fluctuate and also want to receive regular income. The Quorum Capital Income and Growth Portfolio seeks to prioritise Capital Growth and Income over Preservation of Principal, but will still look to give sufficient weighting in the portfolio towards Preservation of Principal.

Quorum Capital Passive Portfolio Range:

The three Quorum Passive Portfolios (Cautious, Balanced and Growth) are suitable for clients who want a low cost, market driven investment portfolio managed within risk assessed guidelines.

The overall investment process behind the Quorum Passive portfolios is relatively straightforward.  Each portfolio has a pre-determined strategic asset allocation split between equities and fixed income with an additional set of weightings at a regional level.  The portfolios are re-balanced on a regular basis and use a strategic asset allocation to maximise the return for a given risk level. The portfolios are populated with index-tracking funds to match the asset allocations which keeps the investment costs very low (currently the OCF of the portfolios are 0.06% to 0.08%). The long-term strategic asset allocation for each portfolio is determined through a process that uses long-term data on ten asset classes (US, European, UK, Japan, Pacific ex Japan, and Emerging Markets equities, global government bonds, corporate bonds, property securities and cash) covering returns and risk and is run on at least an annual basis.
